Administrative Proceedings
Administrative Law is the body of law that regulates the operation and procedures of government agencies, namely their rules, regulations, available information, hearings, appeals and decision-making. In other words, administrative law sets forth how the agencies will implement the laws that a legislature passed; Congress or the State Legislature passes the law, the agency details it. This includes how claims for benefits under the laws will be handled, and the different levels of claim review. Exhaustion of those levels of review are almost always required before a claimant can seek redress in the federal or state court system.
Federal agency procedures are governed by the Administrative Procedure Act.
